The last Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol, sheltered in a steel plant surrounded by Russian forces, allow another deadline to surrender to expire and remain adamant they will not give in. The commander of Ukrainian forces there sent this message: “This is our statement to the world, and it may be our last statement, and maybe we have a few days or hours left. The enemy’s units are ten times larger than ours, and they have supremacy in the air and on the ground, and they have tanks, and we are appealing to the world’s leaders to help us.” CNN’s Matt Rivers begins today’s coverage with a live report from Ukraine.
