David Stockman’s takedown of Donald Trump’s economic policies

Sabrin Murray 2.26.18 04

In a recent nearly 60-minute interview on C-SPAN, David Stockman lays out the case that Trump’s economic policies were statist to the core.  Stockman also asserts how an immigration policy of guest workers is consistent with free markets so families can seek to live the American Dream. Stockman’s daily commentary (subscription required) can be found here

For those of us who have been critical of Republican presidents who sound like libertarians and economic conservatives, their record is not different when it comes to spending and deficits. In addition, Republicans have not called for abolishing the welfare-warfare state, except for former congressman Ron Paul, which is why we have a “uniparty” in DC.
