On Monday a little after noon I was sitting at my desk with my wife (Florence) nearby and I had what can be described as a “brain fog” for about 20 minutes or so.  She said I had a blank look on my face.  My wife was very concerned.

After I returned to a normal condition, I drove her to a 2pm appointment without incident.  On the way back, she called our PCP and he requested the security visit me in our apartment to take my vital signs.  All the vitals were normal.  Nevertheless, my PCP told the security personnel to call 911 so an ambulance could take me to the ER to determine if I had a TIA.

We waited in the ER for several hours before I was seen by the attending physician who ordered a chest X-ray, a CT scan, an echocardiogram, and a MRI.  I stayed overnight in the ER department until a room was available on Tuesday.  On Tuesday I had the echocardiogram and on Wednesday morning I had the MRI.  All the tests were negative.

The discharge papers described Transient Global Amnesia, which is a temporary memory loss.  One episode is not a precursor for a stroke.  Nevertheless, knowing the symptoms for serious illnesses is the key to quick treatment and recovery.  Ignoring symptoms is a sure way to having a major medical episode and possibly a quick death.

This was my first hospital stay since I broke my arm on July 4, 1955, and was hospitalized for four weeks in Monticello, NY.  The Fourth of July has more than one special meaning for me.

All the nurses took great care of me.  No complaints. The major complaint I have is I was not asked if I had any food allergies and the snacks I got contained HFCS, one of the worst ingredients to ingest

I dodged a bullet.  I don’t think Joe Biden is dodging any bullets.  His condition from what we observe on TV reveals he has major cognitive issues, and he is declining.   We shall see if he runs graciously drops out of the race at the summer convention or in the fall.

PS. I still have not heard from Fox about their one-sided reporting of US support for Ukraine and Israel.
